Ms. Franqui is co-founder and Managing Director of Forrestal Capital, a business and financial consultant formed to advise the founders of Panamerican Beverages (Panamco), at the time of its sale in 2003. Forrestal Capital invests the liquidity of its clients, through third party managers and provides advice in their multiple operating businesses. They also invest the funds of their clients in direct private equity transactions, primarily in Latin America. In 2007, Forrestal Capital advised one of its clients in the acquisition Arcos Dorados, Mc Donald’s operator in all of Latin America and the Caribbean. Arcos Dorados completed a NYSE public listing in April 2011. In addition to Arcos Dorados, direct private equity transactions have included interests in distribution and logistics, drug manufacturing and retail, hotels, medical devices, craft spirits and various other consumer and retail concepts.
Prior to co-founding Forrestal, Ms. Franqui was the Chief Financial Officer for Panamco. Ms. Franqui began her financial career in 1986, in the banking industry, working for JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs in both London and New York in the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and Equity Research.
Ms. Franqui holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1984), and an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business (1986). She is also a CFA charter holder. Ms. Franqui is a member of the Board of Directors of Arcos Dorados, Freddo, Halstatt and Samson & Surrey. As a volunteer, she is a member of the national Board of Directors of AARP, one of the largest not for profit organizations in the United States and a Trustee of the Miami Foundation.
