Co-Founder at TakeOff Technologies, Inc. After finishing his medical studies, he worked as a doctor for 3 years in Venezuela. In 2003, he moved to Boston to work as a medical doctor and researcher at the Department of Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. During this time, he also had the opportunity to interact with the pharmaceutical industry in trying to bring his research from the bench to the bedside. Rafael has received multiple awards, holds a patent, has published extensively in premier journals and his work has been cited over 1,100 times around the world. He has had the opportunity to combine a scientific background and business through different ventures as an investor, consultant and entrepreneur.
Rafael believes that hard work and knowledge sharing, coupled with the need to apply critical thinking in a constant manner, can lead to leapfrog advancements in many areas. He is well known among his peers as someone who wants to influence the life of many in a significant way. In addition to his medical and entrepreneurial background, Rafael joined the General Management Program at Harvard Business School and was the Speaker of the Class. His never ending capacity to learn, hard working discipline, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as his ability to think outside of the box, make him a positive differentiator and a great member of our leadership team.
